FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Meridian School will return to a non-profit corporation at the end of this fiscal year.
In the fall of 2010, after Meridian School had closed its doors, a group of Meridian School parents, including a group based in Beijing, China, invested in Meridian School to reopen its doors and build upon its rich academic and cultural history. Part of that investment required Meridian School to be converted to a privately owned corporation. Over the past decade, Meridian School has successfully partnered with schools in the U.S. and around the world to bring innovative education models to its students in Utah. Meridian School’s students have thrived in the classroom, the community, and in higher education. As a school community, Meridian is excited for the next decade of innovation and growth.
In its most recent meeting, Meridian School’s Board of Directors recognized that the need for a privately owned corporation no longer exists and Meridian School could convert back to a nonprofit corporation based in Utah. Meridian School will begin immediately to prepare legal and accounting documents to convert to a nonprofit on the last day of its current fiscal year, July 31st, 2020.
