This year’s spring performance was Brigadoon, a play that was originally a movie that came out in the 1950’s and then was later adapted into a musical. The students have been practicing for their performance since try-outs in January and worked hard these past few months to put on a wonderful show!
The play follows the story of two American’s who are traveling in Scotland and stumble across a hidden city that only appears every one-hundred years. With lots of singing and dancing and fun, the pair and the town have their own adventures before the city disappears again into the mist. With two different cast performing on alternating nights, there was the opportunity for a lot of involvement from many students and new experiences with solo singing parts and having their own lines to perform as well. The play already sets the attitude of happiness and fun, and the students were really able to portray that with their acting and how much fun each of them seemed to be having on stage at every moment.
Overall, it was a great experience for everyone involved, the actors and the audience both! We look forward to seeing what next year’s musical is going to be!
